Before I talk about the general state of the Sales and Lettings markets, It is only right and proper that I make a very special mention to our Lettings team. Not only have they improved their billing for the month, for the 9th month on the trot but this month they have beaten the all-time monthly billing record at Martyn Gerrard and broken through the £300,000 mark for the first time. Property Management led the way on records, with their best month’s billing, over £50k for the first time ever - Well done Paul and your team. Whetstone and Southgate lettings also had their best billing month ever.


Whetstone actually did the double as the sales team had their best billing month of the year so far. It was a good solid month for sales agreed, but unfortunately let down by the number and size of the aborted sales, I appreciate most of these will re-sell, and this is somewhat understandable with the insecurity around, but it is beholden upon us to save whatever we can and instil confidence in buyers as the Brexit situation will sort itself out. Continue to put together as many good and proceedable sales as you have been, forget the aborts and let’s have a good November boosting the pipeline which will see us back up and give us a good foundation for 2019. Encouragingly the number of applicants registered in October ’18 is up on September, yes up, and it is also up on October last year, so let’s make the most of them!


Well done to Muswell Hill, who finished the month top for billing in sales some £10k in front of East Finchley, in Lettings, those roles were reversed with East Finchley in top spot and Muswell Hill in second.  Individually well done to Glenn Lewis at N10, who was easily in first place for individual billing in October, while in lettings Karine Courcelle and Lyle Morgan slugged it out for first place, with Lyle eventually winning by just £35.


There continues to be a lot of mixed messages in the media about the housing market and the government did not feel it was necessary to put anything in the Budget to help. However, as I keep pointing out, there is still -and always will be - a housing market, as people will continue to move home, and whilst interest rates are still low there has never been a cheaper time to move up the ladder. We just need to make sure we deal with every enquiry thoroughly and professionally, keeping alert for any potential vendors/Landlords and other associated business.


As a Company, we always look to be at the forefront of innovation and we continue to invest in ways to generate good leads for you. We are currently working on new developments which will revolutionise our online marketing. This new and exciting initiative will enable us to put our properties in front of genuine buyers and tenants before they have even contacted us. This will not only put us head and shoulders above other agents in our area it will help bring in more business - more on this in the coming months.
