One of our favourite places in Crouch End is Parkland Walk, which follows the route of a disused railway line and runs from Muswell Hill down to Finsbury Park. It’s a quiet wooded area perfect for a walk or jogging.
Anything else?
The area is a magnet for people in the creative arts and the annual Crouch End festival is a showcase for local talent. It sees hundreds of events such as craft fairs and live music, in numerous venues around Crouch End.
Much of the filming for Shaun of the Dead was in Crouch End as its writer and star Simon Pegg lived in the area.
Also, it’s not widely known, but in a Stephen King short story, Crouch End hid a gateway into an unspeakable parallel dimension - we’ve looked but we can’t find it.
