About Martyn Gerrard

Chairman Martyn Gerrard established the firm in Whetstone in 1964 and sold his first house in Byng Road, Barnet for £4950.  The Whetstone office was swiftly followed by five strategically placed branches throughout North London: North Finchley, Finchley Central, East Finchley, Crouch End and Muswell Hill.  In the 1970s the company declined an offer by one of the big insurance companies to sell out, as Martyn Gerrard believed then, and still believes today, that the main function of an estate agent is selling or letting property, not selling insurance.  Today, the company sells around 1200 properties a year – from executive apartments to period homes – and everything in between.

Managing Director Simon Gerrard has Estate Agency and Property running through his blood. From an early age he has experienced all aspects of agency life and in 2005 he took over the day to day running of the company from his father. While continuing the family tradition of friendly service and high professional standards, Simon has brought a new dynamic aspect to the business by embracing the latest innovative ideas and technologies.

Jeff Harrington manages the East Finchley office and is also a director of the company. He joined Martyn Gerrard in 1972 and progressed rapidly, becoming a director in 1977. With his wealth of local knowledge, Jeff is well known throughout the Finchley area. He is also the company’s Development Consultant, offering advice to clients on new developments, refurbishments and conversion projects.

Having been encouraged by his uncle to get into estate agency, David started at Martyn Gerrard when he left school in the late 70's. He was quickly promoted to senior negotiator and then office manager. Over the years he has worked in many of the companies Branches and has built up an in-depth knowledge of the area. He is a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents and Memeber of the Association of Residential Letting Agents. In his spare time he "enjoys" hacking around a golf course and is a member of Middlesex County Cricket Club

Warren Price is Sales Director and manages the Finchley Central office. Having started as a trainee in 1991, Warren swiftly rose through the ranks to become a manager and then a director after 7 years. There are few other agents with as much experience of the Finchley area as Warren.

Saul who manages the Commercial agency and Professional Services departments has grown up in the business he is a Member of the Royal Institute of Charted Surveyors and also has a Masters in Property Valuation and Law. In his spare time Saul is a keen athlete. Last year he entered the London Triathlon and raised a considerable sum for the British Heart Foundation, now the memory of the aches and pains are receding he is back in training for the next event.

Joining the company as a trainee in 2001, Greg quickly progressed to become a Lettings Manager in 2003. He now has responsibilities for the East Finchley, Muswell Hill, Kentish Town and Crouch End offices. With 9 years of local experience and many satisfied clients, Greg prides himself on establishing long lasting business relationships with Landlords and Tenants alike. Greg is fluent in Russian and after a most succesful 2009 was this year made an Associate Director of the company and became a member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents.

Mark is Branch Manager at the Crouch End office, having joined the company as an experienced Senior Negotiator in 2004. He has an excellent knowledge of the Crouch End area, and lives locally in nearby Stroud Green. After studying successfully for a Geography Degree at Southampton University, Mark travelled around South America before settling in North London. He has run several Marathon and Half Marathon events, raising significant sums for various charities.

Craig’s property career started in Notting Hill and Bayswater in the mid nineties. Having built up his experience in St John’s Wood, Maida Vale and Hampstead he first came to Finchley in 1998 and now manages our North Finchley Branch. Craig doesn’t like wasting time on the daily commute so in 2007 he settled in Woodside Park. When not cheering on his beloved Liverpool FC he enjoys cooking and entertaining (apparently he’s very good in the kitchen). Craig is also a qualified Diver, which has seen him exploring reefs as far away as Cuba, Brazil and Australia.

Paul is Branch Manager at the Muswell Hill office and has risen through the ranks since he started as a trainee with the company in late 2003.  Paul has excellent local knowledge and is also a fully accredited Domestic Energy Assessor, providing Energy Performance Certificates (EPC’s) for the company and is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents. In his free time Paul is a keen sportsman, playing football for a Sunday League team and competing in Triathlons around the country on a yearly basis.

Although Darren has only recently joined us he has a wealth of experience with 11 years estate agency experience (7 with an independent of High Barnet) He has lived in New Barnet all his life so knows the area incredibly well. Darren has been a professional tri-athlete since 2007 and has competed in various races including overseas. He has had numerous race wins here in the UK and made the professional podium once finishing 2nd and 3 other professional top 10 finishes the highlight being 10th in the first round of the Iron man 70.3 World Series in South Africa.

Anthony is Lettings Manager of the Finchley Central branch and also oversees the North Finchley and Whetstone offices. Anthony joined the company in 2004 having worked in Finchley Central for the past seven years. He has a very wide knowledge of the area and there are not many agents with the same experience of the area as Anthony. He is a family man with two boys and enjoys playing golf. 

Andrew has been in the property industry for over 10 years. Prior to becoming an estate agent in 2004 he was a site manger for an Interior design Building & Refurbishment company in South London. When not thinking about property Andrew enjoys the arts and has appeared in numerous theatre productions in and around London.

Susan has enjoyed working for the Company for many years, and has a wide and valuable knowledge of the North London area, having worked in  most of Martyn Gerrads branches.  She was born in Totteridge, and attended local schools, and still lives locally.

Jason’s career in Estate Agency began in 2005 in Finchley Central and having built up a wealth of experience we are very pleased that he now manages the lettings department at our North Finchley office. A keen sportsman and snowboarding fan, Jason has just gained his PADI open water certificate and having already travelled through much of Europe and Asia is looking forward to scuba diving all over the world. 

Chris joined Martyn Gerrard In March 2008 as a trainee sales negotiator. Now permanently based at East Finchley, he gained experience working in various branches including Crouch End, Muswell Hill and Kentish Town. Chris grew up in North London and has been involved in many various local projects and realises the importance of giving back to the community. He is a keen basketball player training with England basketball team and playing in tournaments and leagues in and around London. For the past 3 years he has been coaching basketball to kids in Islington, Camden and Crouch End

Veronica has enjoyed living and raising her family in Muswell Hill benefiting and valuing the excellent local schools and amenities.  Becoming a local sales negotiator has allowed her to use her valuable local knowledge and understanding of this remarkable area. Her long standing membership of the world renowned Crouch End Festival Chorus, recently performing with Oasis for the BBC Electric Proms, keeps her busy and involved with the local community.

Born and bred in Barnet, Scott has an excellent knowledge of the local area. He gained a degree in Business and Computing and since joining the company he has quickly become a valuable member of the team in North Finchley, and in his own words wants to become the top negotiator in the company! Scott has recently taken the NFoPP Technical Award in the Sale of Residential Property and passed with flying colours! In his spare time Scott is a gym fanatic and Arsenal fan.

Tony began his Estate agency career in 2005 and joined Martyn Gerrard in 2010 as the assistant manager of the North Finchley Branch. Having grown up in the Barnet area he has extensive knowledge of North London which together with his understanding of the property market has rapidly seen him become well respected throughout the company. Another Arsenal supporter, Tonys love of sport doesnt end with football, he is a keen golf, cricket and snooker fan. That said he doesn’t get much time on the pitch, the course or the green baize anymore as he is now the proud father of his new baby boy, Charlie.

Gavin joined the company in October 2009 and is based in our Finchley Central branch and specialising in property in Mill Hill. Having grown up in Elstree and spending the last six years selling houses in Mill Hill he has a wide knowledge of the area. Gavin is a keen football fan and loves his local North London Team Tottenham Hotspur.

Following in her dad’s “property footsteps”, Elle first joined the company at our Crouch End branch in early 2006. With her potential quickly realised she was swiftly promoted to her current role of Senior Negotiator, covering Finchley and Mill Hill . Apart from ensuring everyone has a smile on their face Elle likes to spend her time shopping and when it all becomes a bit too much she relaxes with a spot of light yoga.

James began in the Crouch End branch in 2000 then moved to the Whetstone branch, (the area he has lived all his life), and has now settled in the East Finchley branch. He is studying towards his professional qualification of Tech RICS, which he hopes to have completed early 2009

Rebecca is the lettings negotiator at the Kentish Town office, having lived in North London her whole life she has a very good knowledge of the area. Rebecca completed a Law degree at Hertfordshire University in 2007 and shortly after started working in the property industry, joining Martyn Gerrard in June 2010. In her spare time she likes to go out with friends and spend time with her family.

Emily joined the company in October 2009 and is now based in our Totteridge and Whetstone branch as a sales negotiator. With over six year’s sales experience, Emily has a good knowledge of the area, with estate agency experience in North Finchley and Whetstone. Her favourite thing to do in her spare time is socialising with her partner and friends and working out at the gym.

Atta joined the company in August 2009 and is based as the sales negotiator in Kentish Town.
In his 8 years of working in the Estate agency profession, he has gained a lot of experience and knowledge about the property market. Atta is a strong believer of providing great customer service with integrity and honesty. In his spare time Atta enjoys playing and watching sports and socialising.

Andy is the lettings negotiator at the Muswell Hill Branch. With many years experience of letting property in the North London area he joined Martyn Gerrard in October 2008. Having grown up locally, he has acquired a wide knowledge of the area and all it has to offer. Andy is fluent in Greek and in his spare time a keen sportsman, who plays regularly in the five a side football tournaments in Muswell Hill.

Daniel has recently joined our sales department in Muswell Hill. Having been in the property industry since 2003 and being Muswell Hill born and bred, he brings a wealth of experience and unrivalled local knowledge to our already successful team.  A qualified Domestic Energy Assessor, Daniel is not only fluent in Portuguese but three additional languages. His spare time is reserved exclusively for his one true love, football.

Tina is a West Country girl, born in Yeovil Town; she has been in Lettings and Property Management for over 5 years and bring her knowledge in all aspects of the industry to the newly opened Mill Hill branch. Having travelled around the country she has now settled and made her home in North West London. In her spare time Tina enjoys spending time with her friends, going to the gym , cooking  and when she is not doing any of this her main priority is her beloved dog Alfie the ShiTzu.

Having finished University, Anthony came to work for the company as a Lettings Manager in 2004. He has experience in many of our areas having worked in North Finchley, Highgate, Muswell Hill and Crouch End and fully understands our clients needs. Anthony is also a keen skier and speaks German fluently. He has recently taken the NFoPP Technical Award in Lettings & Property Management which he passed with a score of 100%

David is the sales negotiator at the Crouch End office.  He joined the company in June 2005 at the Whetstone office then moved to Crouch End at the beginning of 2007. Living locally he has a great knowledge of both the Whetstone and Crouch End areas and is a very enthusiastic member of the team. David is fluent in Italian and in his spare time is a keen gym enthusiast.

Mark joined the company early July 2010 and is based in our recently opened Mill Hill office. Living in the local area for 26 years and working as an Estate Agent for over 5 years, Mark brings a wealth of local knowledge and experience to the team. His favourite things to do in his spare time is socialising with his friends and family, walking his dog Charlie and watching Formula 1.
